2. What we collect

When you visit the site, our analytics tools record standard technical events:

  • IP address
  • User agent
  • Date and time of access
  • Visited pages
  • Links clicked
  • Referrer

We do not ask you to submit names, emails, phone numbers, or other identifiers on the website. Note that an IP address can qualify as personal data under the PDPL if it relates to an identifiable person.

3. How we collect it

We use two analytics solutions:

  • Matomo
  • Dhilos Beam hosted by Dhilos Networks

Both record page views and click events described above. They are configured to collect only the minimum data needed for metrics.

4. Why we process data

  • Measure website traffic and content performance
  • Detect errors and protect the site against abuse
  • Produce aggregate statistics for planning and security

5. Legal basis under UAE PDPL

We rely on one or more of the following legal bases, as permitted by the PDPL:

  • Consent for non-essential analytics where required.
  • Contract or pre-contract steps when processing is necessary to deliver requested online content.
  • Legal obligation or protection of rights for security logging and to establish or defend legal claims.

The PDPL does not provide a general “legitimate interests” ground, so we do not rely on that basis.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

If cookies or similar identifiers are used for analytics beyond what is strictly necessary, we request consent where required and honor your choice. Browser settings may also limit cookies.

7. Retention and anonymization

  • Raw technical records are stored for 3 months.
  • After 3 months, records are anonymized and kept for 12 months for trend analysis.
  • We delete or further anonymize data when no longer needed.

8. Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with third parties except:

  • with our analytics and hosting providers acting under our instructions, and
  • when required by applicable law or competent authorities.

9. International transfers

We avoid transferring personal data to jurisdictions that are not compliant with UAE data protection requirements. If a transfer is necessary, we will use a destination approved by the UAE authorities or implement appropriate safeguards permitted by the PDPL, and only to the extent allowed by law.

10. Security

We apply administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or loss, aligned with UAE best practices.

11. Your rights

Under the PDPL, you can request:

  • Access to your personal data
  • Correction of inaccuracies
  • Deletion in applicable cases
  • Restriction of processing in applicable cases
  • Data portability where processing is based on consent or contract and carried out by automated means
  • Objection to certain automated processing decisions

12. Children’s data

Our site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal data.
